Cedar Point.

It takes a few months for something interesting for me to blog about to happen. ahahah. But hopefully this is a good one. ahah. =]

Thursday, July 17th, I left and went to my friend, Ashleigh Doxtator's house. Her family had invited me to go to Cedar Point, an amusement park, with them. I accepted, even though I'm absolutely terrified of rollar coasters. After a sleepless night, on Friday, the 18th, around 5:00 a.m. we left for Ohio! The three and a half hour trip was kind of boring, but we survived. I won't give you the boring details of getting our tickets and everything.

Walking into the park, this lovely old man ripped my ticket. I was wearing my Les Miserables t-shirt. The old man goes, "That is the best show running on stage." I look down at my shirt.

"I agree!"

"You've seen it!?"

"Yes!"

"I've seen it four times."

I smiled and walked into the park. It was nice to converse with this old man. Ahaha. We had been let into the park an hour before it actually opened and some rides were open for us. We went to the nearest coaster, The Raptor, and debated getting on. Jessica, who is 8, unfortunately wasn't tall enough to get on the ride. Mr. Doxtator went with her to another coaster and told us to go on. I was practically shaking. I hadn't been to an amusement park in 6 years, and hadn't been on a coaster in about 12. And this looked terrifying to me. For visuals, here is a picture I found on photobucket of the Raptor. If you want to see a bigger picture, go look for one yourself.

Cedar Point's website describes the Raptor as this...

An inverted roller coaster, Raptor has seats similar to ski lift chairs, suspended below its inverted track. Riders see nothing but the sky and track above them, and nothing but their dangling feet below - just a few feet above the ground! Raptor passengers also tumble head over heels six times!

I honestly can't tell you much about the ride. Why you ask? Because my eyes were squeezed shut and I was gripping the seat with all my strength. As I said, not a fan of roller coasters.

After that, Mrs. Doxtator, Hunter, Ashleigh and I headed for the Millenium Force.

The line was huge. I got all the way through it and then chickened out. That hill looked huge and I just couldn't do it. This lady was trying to reassure me I'd have fun, but I was panicking. There was just no way I could get on. Ashleigh said the guy that sat next to her said this...

"She couldn't do it? Too scared? Aww, that's sad." And he didn't say it mockingly, he said it regretfully. It was sad though. Jessica is 8 and she got on it. But it was reassuring that she didn't like it. ahaha.

By this time, our whole group is together again and we head for the Mantis. The only roller coaster in Ohio where you are standing on your own two feet for the whole ride.

The track was huge, and it twisted a lot, and went upside down! I didn't want to go on...But I did. Like with the Raptor, my eyes stayed shut. I didn't like this one much at all. You had to stand a certain way, and my head was banged around a lot. It was annoying. I was glad to hear that no one else except Hunter liked it either.

Right next to The Mantis, was the Iron Dragon. This one didn't look so bad to me. You can't see the whole coaster in this one, but....

I, surprisingly, loved this one. I kept my eyes open, and I enjoyed it. At times it looked like you were gonna hit some trees, or fly in the water, but it was awesome. I loved it.

Right after that, Mrs. Doxtator said she was feeling sick. She was in the bathroom forever, and then we went to the first aid station. We sat in there for forever. Jessica was getting antsy, so after riding the tea cups, which were right outside, twice with Hunter, she wanted to go on the Power Tower. Mr. Doxtator asked Ashleigh and I to stay in the first aid station while Hunter, Jessica and Him left, so we did. They said they'd be back soon. They were gone an hour and a half. An hour after they'd left, Mrs. Doxtator came out. We waited a half hour before they finally came back. They had rode the Power Tower twice, and then the Top Thrill Dragster. In case you've never heard of that, I swear, its got to be one of the biggest coasters in the United States, and the lines are huge. They waited fourty minutes for it. Since Mrs. D was still sick, we left. We hadn't been there very long, four hours tops, but two was spent in the first aid... On the way to our hotel, Castaway Bay, all Jessica would talk about was the Top Thrill Dragster and how much she loved it. It was so annoying. Cute, but annoying. We went to our room and after a little while, Everyone but Mrs. D went to lunch. We went to TGI Fridays. Just because I know you're curious, I had a bacon cheeseburger with water. ahahah. So did Ashleigh and Hunter. Ashleigh and I were exhausted, as neither of us had slept the night before. So after lunch, we went and napped.

Around 6 o' clock, Mr. D wakes us up and ask if we want to go back to Cedar Point. Hunter, Jessica and I say yes, but Ashleigh, my ride buddy, said no! She wanted to sleep! I was like, "You're kidding me!" But she was not. So we left without her and Mrs. D.

The first ride Jessica wanted to go on was the Demon Drop. I wasn't going on it. ahaha, So they went on. Jessica then started with..."POWER TOWER! LETS GO ON THE POWER TOWER AGAIN! COME ON COME ON COME ON!!!" I really didn't want to. This is what it looks like if you look up at it.

And here is another view.

It is 240 feet high...and being afraid of heights...I really really really didn't want to go on....But I did.... And I was terrified. As it took off, I thought my stomach was gonna fly out of my mouth. And then it went down...Just as fast. Again, I thought I was gonna throw up... Mr. D kept saying,

"Open your eyes Sam! Open them!" I opened them for about one second, Then shut them again. It was scary.

We went back to the Iron Dragon then, and rode it twice more. Since Ashleigh wasn't there to ride with me, I rode with Hunter instead. He was my new ride buddy. The Corkscrew was right there, so we rode that too. I liked it, but my eyes were closed yet again.

After that, they wanted to go on the Top Thrill Dragster...Again....

The Top Thrill Dragster is 420 feet high I believe, and goes 120 mph. I didn't care that it only lasts about 17 seconds. I wasn't getting on it. There is only one person in this world that I think could even have a shot at convincing me to go on that thing, and that person will never try I'm sure...Hahah. So even though I'd have to wait forever, I waited for them. Jessica, who couldn't stop talking about how much she loved the Top Thrill Dragster earlier, chickened out! She said she loved it, but then cried hysterically when she got on. I was so confused. Ahahaha.

We were making her way to the Gemini, when we saw Monster. A spinning ride. I can't find a picture, but it was ok. A bit nauseating, but ok. ahaha.

Then we were to the Gemini. A classic wooden coaster. Again, you can't see it all, but I loved it. I believe it went 130 feet in the air, dropped you 118 and went 60 mph. Kept my eyes open for this one. ahaha. Rode it twice.

Photobucket

And this morning, Sunday, we saw it on the Travel Channel! Its a classic like I said. ahah.

Then they went on the Magnum. My feet were killing me...My shoes were squeezing my pinky toes. I really didn't want to stand in line. So I waited for them. I should of gone on. It was the one ride they decided to buy a picture of...You know, where the camera snaps a picture of you on the ride? haha. After that we left though. It was about 15 minutes till closing time so we just left. We went to Walmart and bought some food and went back to the hotel. After a shower, I went to sleep.

Alas! Saturday is there! And after some poptarts, we went to Castaway Bay's indoor waterpark. First, we went on the Pineapple Pipeline, a yellow waterslide, in honor of the new season of Psych. If you don't know what Psych is, or what pineapples have to do with it, you clearly are not well educated in good entertainment. ahah. Then we went on a green waterslide, and then we went to Rendevous Run. It was like, this waterslide, but you're in a raft, and you go down this hill and it shoots you up and you go through all these tubes...Like a water roller coaster. It was awesome. He went on it 6 or 7 times. We also went in the wave pool, on the tube slides, which were really fast, the hot tub, and stood under the water bucket thing. ahahah. After about an hour and a half, I got bored. Not kidding. We left for a while, then came back...I was still bored. I developed a head ache and Ashleigh and I went back to the room. Shortly after, the rest of the group came back and we went to TGI Friday's for dinner. It was attatched to the hotel. Our waiter was from a city about 30 minutes from where I live! Anyway, because I know you're curious again, I had parmasean crusted chicken which came with a tomato salad and alfredo spinich tortellini. It was delicious. I hate spinich, but it was good. And the portion was just right, like the menu said. I also had a pepsi. Despite the menu saying they had coke, they didn't, because they're owned by Cedar Point.

Not much worth saying happened after that. We went to bed, packed up, checked out, hung out in the arcade....I played Deal or No Deal. Haha, I won ten tickets. Ashleigh and I put what few tickets we had together, and each got some small trinkets. I got a foam dice...or Di..... Finger cuffs, not the chinese ones.... a little plastic dinosaur and vampire fangs, so I can be a fake vampire. We all know real vampires don't have fangs. ahaha. We also went to one of the gift shops... Nick Knacks. The other two weren't open at the time. I had only ten dollars, and everything was expensive. But I found a four dollar Cedar Point snow globe(more like glitter globe) and a six dollar key chain. I bought those. If I tell you what the key chain said, promise not to laugh? It said...Or says..."I Heart Kevin." Ok, go ahead, laugh. Just supporting Kevin Jonas. Not that I don't support his brothers! I support them all! I just didn't have 18 dollars. I'll get you a picture... ahah.

Kevchain. haha, I mean, Key chain.

When we were finished with our purchases, we stopped at Wendy's, ate lunch and headed home. We stopped at an outfitters place, Cabelas....Newtons Outfitters has nothing on this place. Haha, This place was like an outdoor lover's mall!!!!! They had huge displays, a restaurant...Tons of stuff. Check out their site...

Once we finished looking around there and taking a picture outside where the two bears were fighting(not real of course) we finished the drive home. The Doxtators dropped me off and then I spent an hour or so making this blog. Sorry that I didn't tell it in my best story mode, I was just too bored to do it. Sorry. More pictures to come after the Doxtators send me them.

Over all, I had a lot of fun. I wouldn't say I exactly conquered my fear of roller coasters, but for the most part, i did face them and I would totally go on those rollar coasters again. And I'd go on the ones I didn't get the opportunity to try. So who wants to come with me next time? ahah.

~Samantha~

P.S. All the pictures up there, except for the last two, my souveniers, I didn't take them. I do not own them. I found them online.
